Raymen Beach Resort in Alubihod Guimaras

raymen beach resort-guimaras

Raymen Beach resort is considered as affordable alternative to boracay for those living in Iloilo. Travel time to Alubihod takes less than 2 hours compared to 6 hours in Boracay. In fact you can take a day trip to Alubihod and go home in the afternoon. The entrance fee is affordable at only 10 pesos. The resort has various airconditioned rooms and cottages for resort goers to choose from. There’s a resort restaurant to spare you from the hassle of bringing your own food.

I was disappointed to see safety nets around the resort. I know it’s for safety reason but it spoils the view. The good thing is, there’s boats nearby that provides island hopping trips at affordable rate. You can go snorkeling at Ave Maria Islands and get a glimpse of the corals and fishes.

I remember my first trip to Alubihod and recalled how I marveled at the white sand beaches and crystal clear waters. Back then, most of us have to settle with dully gray beaches since its the closest in the city.

Raymen Beach Resort Guide

From Iloilo – Guimaras

iloilo guimaras ferry terminal

Upon Arriving Jordan Guimaras wharf, you have three transportation options to Alubihod and vice versa.

Via Jeepney -The Nueva Valencia Jeepney is the affordable transportation to Sitio Alubihod. However, there’s always the tendency that the jeepneys would be overcrowded. Be prepared for delays due to long loading and unloading of stuff on the jeepney. But on the way back, jeepneys from Nueva Valencia to Jordan has less loading and unloading.

Don’t forget to remind the driver to drop you off at Alubihod. Note the gasoline station as a marker of Sitio Alubihod. There’s tricycles that will take you straight to Raymen Beach resort.

Via Multicab – Multicabs are available for private transportation. A bit pricy since the fare ranges between 300-500 one way trip to alubihod. It’s best if you come in group composed of 6-8 people.

Via Tricycle -Tricycle fare for private transportation is between 250-300. There are times when you have to take tricycle from Nueva Valencia back to Jordan since Nueva Valencia jeeps and multicabs rarely passes by.

Tip - I strongly suggest to get private transportation if you come in groups because it’s more convenient and time saver.

i’v been in guimaras today. and ofcourse, part of the itnrary was to visit raymen since its the most accessible beach resort in the island (that was according on my online search). twas my first time in the island which i dreamt and planned of going for the nth time so i was VERY EXCITED. but also VERY SAD to say that i went home only DISAPPOINTED. part of my disappointmnt was the raymen’s poor service in their canteen. we’v waited 1.5hrs for our foods to be serve which the canteen staff (cathy) told us dat it wud took only 30mins. the 30min wait actually made us decide to hav our lunch first bfor go down the beach. wel, the long wait in a resto may always be a prblm so it may be acceptble. but to see othr guest already enjoying their fud to think that we wer the first to hav our order and never had our grilled porkchop at all because we have to wait again where in fact we saw that grilled porkchop was served to the foreigners nxt to our table which we believe suppose to be on our table!

@Zai, that’s the sad part when the staff mix up the order. But it always happens elsewhere. It would help if one should ask the staff from time to time about the status of the food.

Not bad. Beautiful beach. The rooms were ok. We stayed at the Daisy rooms (900) which only has 1 strong ceiling fan. Which is, surprisingly, good enough to cool 5 of us in the room. 2 comfy beds fit for two. The cafeteria, I have to say has slow service. We had to update twice for our food. Other than that, it was a good stay and we’ll be coming back in the following months ;)
