Learn Hiligaynon Dialect
Hi everyone, here’s few basic Hiligaynon phrases. Most of it are common colloquial phrases. Suggestions and correction are very much welcome since I’m no language expert. This is the dialect spoken in Iloilo, Bacolod and anywhere in the country that’s populated by ilonggos.

Maayong Aga – Good Morning
Maayong Udto – Good Noon
Maayong Gabi – Good Evening
Commonly used Phrases
Nakakaon ka na? – Have you eaten already?
Kaon ta – Let’s Eat
Diin Ka Magkadto? – Where are you going?
Bayad Palihog, salamat - Phrase used to ask somebody to pass the jeepney fare to the driver.
Sa lugar lang sa babaw – Phrase used to ask the driver to drop you off when the jeepney arrives to your destination.

Kasag – Crab
Pusit – Squid
Isda – Fish
Mani – Peanuts
Sandiya – Watermelon
Paho – Mango
Kan-on – Rice
Ginamos – Shrimp paste
Uga – Dried Fish
