Organic Products at the Christmas Market Bazaar!

Ilonggos will have its organic fix this coming Friday, December 11, 2009, from 11AM until midnight, at the Christmas Market Bazaar organized by Pauline Gorriceta-Banusing of Maki and Freska, Smallville.

One of the “bazaristas,” Vanilla Finds, will carry organic food products as well as personal care and household products from Fresh Start Organics (Negros), Human Heart Nature, Earth and Me (Iloilo), Plantex, Milea Mineral Makeup, and a selection of healthy snacking alternatives from Alter Trade, Jarvis Foods, and Casa Carmela Kitchen from Bacolod. Limited stocks of organic fertilizer (vermicastings) sourced from a Bacolod farm will also be available for sale.

“Based from our experience in last year’s Christmas bazaar, a shift to an organic consciousness has slowly invaded the city of Iloilo, “ Jorvy Jaruda-Espinosa said. “Ilonggos are now open and receptive to the concept of using organic lip balms, organic mosquito repellents, organic soaps and scrubs, and even organic shampoos and conditioners. In fact, there is already a great following for organic rice, organic coffee, and red rice crunch with malunggay! And the best part about patronizing these organic products is that you also help out our local farmers,” she echoed.

Joining Jaruda-Espinosa in this Christmas Market Bazaar are Frances Lacuesta, Lourdes Biboso, and Joy Madrid. Vanilla Finds will also sell assorted clothes, accessories, swimwear, underwear, and other gift items. Their booth will be located at the entrance of Maki Japanese Resto along Diversion Road.

Free treats like hand massages using organic massage oils and a mineral makeup makeover await lucky patrons.
