Care for cats is not good in Iloilo. Rebadulla comes right out and says “Filipinos don’t care about cats”. Cornerstone is questionable – the cat-friendly Vet has left. No vaccinations other than rabies are available for cats I am told. So, cats are pretty much on their own here. Too bad.

That’s strange, we have good experience with Rebadulla clinic so far with regards to our cats. It must have differed with the vet assigned in the area. One time our cat needed surgical attention and they did their job. We haven’t tried getting our cats vaccinated though. I know that no animal clinics are perfect in Iloilo but it’s better than nothing.

I’d like to have my cat spayed or neutered. Do you have ideas of the costs?

I think it costs 1000+pesos for the male cats and 2000+ pesos plus for the female. I’m not so sure about the price now since it’s been a while since I visited veterinary clinics.

please be informed that since 2005 CORNERSTONE ANIMAL HOSPITAL has moved to a new location. Faith building, Jalandoni Street, Jaro, Iloilo City.

CORNERSTONE also offers 4in1 (feline rhinotracheitis-calici-panleukopenia-chlamydia psittaci)vaccine and anti-rabies vaccine for cats.

kindly call (same number) or visit us for other concerns. thanks.

The fat veterinarian in Cornerstone does not know how to communicate with the pet owners. When I went there for our dog’s check up, I had to ask her all of the questions and we had an “isang tanong-isang sagot” conversation. Mas kinausap pa niya ang aso ko. She got into my nerves but I tried to be nice the whole time. Doesn’t she know that she has to talk to us pet owners more as we are the ones who pay for the veterinary care of our pets?!

anyone here who happens to know where the city vet is? my uncle, a distributor of animal medicines and stuff, advised me to bring my cat to the city vet and have him vaccinated for anti rabies because they offer cheap service rather than private vets, but i don’t know where it’s located. anyone who can tell? thank you :)

I do agree with you Rainier.that vet doesnt know to to deal with the pet owners. According to a friend they are nice to people they knew but if you are new customer they doesnt care about you. I didnt receive any advise or whatever that could help on how to take care of my dogs when i had my puppy check up. after they done with the last vaccine I transferred to another vet. Im not sure if they know what customer service means?

    to Ian ocana,

I guess its only 100 pesos just buy a deworming tablet in vet clinics and dilute it in water and let your puppy drink it. Its less expensive that buying deworming solutions for your puppy.

i’m planning to transfer in iloilo. but i’m afraid i can’t find a quality vet there. what clinic can you suggest to me? dito kasi, 3x akong nagpapalit-palit ng vet till i find one na sobrang galing talaga. he’s not into money. quality care talaga binigay niya sa mga aso ko. sana ang mapuntahan ko is quality vet. hindi yung reresetahan kami ng kung ano-ano tapos hindi naman gagaling aso kol… badly need help.

Had picked up a stray cat on my way home and decided to take care of it rather than leaving it on the road to die. It was very skinny, wet, and, most probably, almost dead. It’s been four months since then and Sam has become very healthy. Now, the next thing in my mind is to have her spayed, however, with the budget constraints that I have, I cannot afford to let her undergo the operation. I asked Banga and it costs 3000 pesos, Tapales 3500, and Rebadullah 4000. I dont have the luxury to spend that much as I am self supporting and I am sending my two siblings to school at the same time, but I feed her raw meat and buy her cat litter to the best that I can. Can anybody help me? I dont want to put this kitty for adoption and I’ve grown to like her as well.

By the way, anyone here willing to be with me to help this stray dog near University of San Agustin?
