Iloilo Paraw Regatta 2010 – Torch Parade
The Iloilo Paraw Regatta festival kicks off with a grand Samba de Regatta Torch Parade. The New Lucena Marching band led the parade with their marjorettes doing a baton dance. Five participating groups of Samba de Regatta dance competition showcased their street dancing. Grand floats with musical bands from different groups. Of course, the beautiful transexuals were looking fierce with their alluring two piece costumes . Also present in the parade are the Runners up of Miss Paraw Regatta 2009 and the crowned Miss Paraw Regatta 2009. You can say that the parade can be likened as the mini version of “Carnival at Rio”.
It was a thrilling experience to watch the torch parade this close. In fact close enough to feel the heat of the torches. This was my first time to witness such parade. Then I had to run all the way from Gen Luna to Freedom Grandstand to catch up with Samba de Regatta dance competition.
