Despite all the glitches and mishaps on first ever automated election. It’s a huge step for the country. We no longer have to do count votes manually. In a way it’s a huge relief that President Gloria Arroyo did not do any drastic measures to halt the election. Despite the technology, I could not help but feel dismayed that most of the voters still voted for a convicted criminal and celebrity thugs. These are the same people who are crying for progress. But then again, if they wanted progress, they would have started with themselves in the first place.

May 10, 2010 Voting Experience

With the first ever automated polling in the history of the country, I couldn’t help but feeling rather optimistic. My whole family went to the precinct early in the morning. For me the voting process was a breeze.

There just one room and one smartmatic machine but it was okay since the voting process was done in a jiffy.

After voting, you’ll just have to insert the ballot into the feeder. If everything’s ok, the machine will accept it. But if the ballot is unreadable due to invalid markings, the machine will reject it and there’s no chance to vote again.

Unfortunately my sister wasn’t able to vote since the database automatically deletes inactive voters. Just a tip, if you haven’t voted for this year’s election make sure you register again as a voter on the next election season.

    dude.. Clarify ko lang during sa election ta na ang voting is manual man sa gihapon. Ang counting lang ang automated. :)
