Iloilo Dinagyang Fun Tips and Guide

Tourists from all over the country and the world flocked at the annual Dinagyang Festival on the month of January. Aside from the event highlight which is the “Dinagyang Ati Contests”, the festival’s got other fun events.

Tips on how to have fun weekend at Dinagyang in Iloilo

  1. Pack lightly, don’t bring valuables especially when you’re out on the streets.
  2. A hat on your head will protect you from heat stroke.
  3. Bring an umbrella, it’s hard to tell if it’s going to rain or unbearable heat.
  4. Buy Dinagyang tickets at the Red Cross located at the side of Iloilo Hall of Justice.
  5. Smallville is the place to be for sponsored events and concerts. Don’t park your car there if you intend to go somewhere else due to traffic.
  6. Diversion road traffic is insane at night with the parties and concerts going on at Smallville. It’s best to park your car somewhere at MH. del pilar Molo or Gen. Luna Street.
  7. You can always walk from Smallville to Molo via the Trenas Boulevard and catch taxi from there instead of getting stuck in traffic.
  8. Don’t limit yourself to the festivities, go visit other tourist spots in Iloilo =)
