Guimaras Manggahan Festival

manggahan festival

Manggahan Festival in Guimaras celebrates the mango harvesting season. Usually celebrated every April 16 – 20 for the sustained promotion of Mango Industry. Varied activities are being showcased depicting the cultural and historical heritage, livelihood, myth and legendary stories portrayed in a cultural showcase, streetdancing and SINADYA (merrymaking). Spread over a weeklong schedule, promoting its products, services and milestones in an agri – trade fair/exhibits, food festival, special events, nightly shows and entertainments and Search for Mutya Ng Guimaras. Manggahan culminates in a grand showcase of cultural festivals in a bid to show the world that there is more to Guimaras than its sweet, fiber and pest-free mangoes.

Manggahan Festival Experience

I’ve been attending the festivities for about more than three years now. Each year there’s always something new to look forward to the festival. For 50 pesos entrance fee, you can eat as much mango to your fill. In Agro-industrial fair, you can find assorted mango products you can’t find normally elsewhere. The highlight of the festival is of course the mangoes for sale at really affordable low price. Carrying heavy plastibag full of mangoes are well worth it! I wished that I stayed longer for the Sinadya and cultural showcase.
