Caves of Escalante - The hills of Escalante are abundant with caves and some were used by the Japanese soldiers as hideout during World War II.
St Francis of Assisi Parish – No restoration efforts has been done to rebuild the church back to its former glory. The church was made up of coral stone before its roof was destroyed by the 1960′s typhoon.
Isla Puti - Is a tiny island surrounded by beautiful white sandy beaches. It takes 20 minutes by pump boat to reach the island.
Escalante Festival
The city celebrates two major festivals where the first one celebrates their patron Saint and the second one to commemorate the massacre of 20 sugar cane workers by soldiers.

Danao port of old Escalante boats are bound for Cebu. Bus terminals are located in New Escalante.
Bus Route - Going to Escalante negros from Bacolod takes 2 1/2 hours. Bus from Escalante to Dumaguete takes 5 hours.
