2010 Visayas Blogging Summit and Philippine Blog Awards Visayas at Iloilo City
After more than 10 months of preparation, Iloilo Bloggers finally see their efforts paid off. I must admit that the back to back event was rather ambitious. It’s hard enough organizing one event, let alone two consecutive events in one day. First was the summit and the awarding ceremony next. It has a hectic day for us organizers in keeping the event running smoothly. But all this wouldn’t be possible without the generousity of our sponsors who truly believed in the power of blogging.
Visayas Blogging Summit
The Visayas Blogging Summit last November 27, 2010 was a success with delegates coming from different regions of the Philippines. Bloggers from Luzon, Mindanao and of course from Visayas attended the event despite the distance. I couldn’t help but feel a bit let down when there’s few bloggers from Iloilo I invited couldn’t make it. It’s too bad since they’re missing out on topics that could have greatly improve their blogging knowledge. Plus there’s free coffee from Bluejays and free snacks from deocampos and tinapayan. Anyway, the participants were treated with a riveting Dinagyang dance number.

Philippine Blog Awards Visayas 2010
Philippine Blog Awards Visayas 2010 was graciously hosted by The Venue with sumptuous dinner buffet. The audience were treated with a Samba de Regatta performance. Bloggers from Iloilo won 3 awards in categories such as Travel, Lifestyle and Food. Gerry Ruiz of Tacloban won Best in Photo blog. The rest of the winners didn’t make it to the awarding.
Thank you so much Ms. Evelyn Que of Tinapayan Iloilo for this lovely cupcakes centerpiece. The tinapayan staff were truly inventive, creative and skillful! I LOVE IT!!
